A Word from Pastor Wayne
Who am I?
I was born and raised in Danielsville, Ga. Being raised in the south, I love sweet tea, fried chicken, and UGA football. At the age of 12, I was captivated by the fact that a Man would die on the Cross for me. At the time when most kids were being pulled astray by the strain of the world, I gave my heart to Jesus Christ. A few years later at a summer camp in Possum Kingdom, SC God once again rocked my world when He revealed His calling on my life. It was at this time, that I saw many of my friends giving up the Church for parties and popularity. While struggling with wanting to fit in, I came across Romans 12:2, which say’s, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” In feeling the struggle and pull of the world in my own life, I recognized the need to reach out to children and youth before it’s too late. This began my Journey into the children/youth ministry.
How did I get to North Carolina?
In 2001, I graduated from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pastoral Ministries. While at Emmanuel College, I met my beautiful wife, Dana. She introduced me to the great state of North Carolina. Upon graduating, we got engaged, and I chased her back to NC where we have been ever since.
What’s My Heart?
Never before have I felt such an overwhelming need to reach outside the walls of the church. In the past year, I have heard and seen so many stories of hurting, rejected, and often unloved children and youth who are wanting/needing someone to help them find that same captivation that I found when I met Jesus at the age of 12. My passion in ministry is to reach out to those who are lost and hurting, while at the same time, challenging this generation of young people to grow in their relationship with God, learn how to defend their faith, and Honor God with their lives. I truly believe that God is the God of this city, and there is still greater things yet to be done in Siler City.
